Both THC-O and delta-8 are considered both cannabinoids that are derived from hemp, and they offer very similar results to each other, and a lot of medical and recreational users will use these but they do have their differences.
The main difference is that HTC-O is considered mostly illegal, and Delta-8 is still suffering from the legalization issues.
How THC-O works
This is THC-O acetate, and this is basically a manmade cannabinoid that offers feelings that are euphoric and psychoactive. It’s not found within the plant itself, but you get this from CBD, CBG, and CBN in most cases.
This includes the use of acetic anhydride, along with other special equipment. The synthesis of this starts with the CBD extraction, converting this into Delta-8. In most cases, this is then combined with acetic anhydride, in order to create THC-O. this then gets rid of the extra solvents and other chemicals which aren’t totally needed either.
The usage of this definitely is similar to THC, but it is definitely more recreational. Some cases this may prove more potent than regular THC, and it can cause you to experience some hallucinogens, along with other feelings that are psychedelic in response.
Some also say that THC-O has helped increase the mental and spiritual awareness, and it’s similar to substances that are psychedelic. This has been proven to help with the relief of stress, reduce anxiety, and also reduce nausea. It also can be used as a type of stimulant. However, there are a few drawbacks of this. First, it’s way more expensive, since it’s hard to get. You also will probably be spending more.

It’s also not regulated, and this can be a dangerous product, since it is not one that’s safe to produce from your home.
You should also be mindful of the lack of research on this and avoid this entirely. Some people have had a lot of bad effects, some of which are more sensitive and stronger than regular Delta-8 or other forms of THC.
What about Delta-8?
This is basically an isomer of the regular delta-9 THC, so it’s got the same number of atoms, but arranged a bit differently. Cannabis doesn’t make a ton of this, but you can get it from hemp plants frequently. It definitely creates a high similar to regular THC, but it’s definitely much milder. It helps improve your feelings, helps to relax, relieve pain, and also reduce the results of nausea, but there isn’t a ton of research.
However, there is not a ton of research. Most of the benefits come from hearsay on social media. Some say that this helps with reducing the use of prescriptions. It can improve your appetite, prevent nausea, improve your outlook on life, and reduce the pain that you’re feeling.

The downside is that it’s something that is not normally sold in a lot of places, and many times, they’re not FDA regulated, so it can be a bit worrisome.
Some have also said that they have elevated and lower heart rates, more chances for anxiety, tiredness, blood pressure issues, confusion, issues with reaction times and red eyes. But delta-8 does work similarly to regular marijuana, so it’s something to consider if that’s what you’d like. Overall, both of these products do need better regulation, but if you had to choose between one or the other, delta-8 is the much better option. It’s safer, has a lot of good benefits, and it’s not made with a risky process, so it tends to be a lot better for you, safer, and it can work in your favor.
